At the beginning of the Barcelona v Elche game at the Nou Camp there was a pitch invader – but not a naked one unfortunately. This time it was a black cat.
The black cat is considered unlucky to most of Europe, but Barcelona paid no notice to the warning signs as they went on to win the game versus Elche at the Nou Camp by three goals to nil. Lionel Messi put them in the lead on 42 minutes before Javier Mascherano got sent off for a foul on Garry Rodrigues. Despite being down to 10 men, El Haddadi grabbed a second on 46 minutes before Lionel Messi bagged his second of the game around 63 minutes.
More to the point – it’s one game down, ten to go before Luis Suarez can make his professional debut for Barcelona.
