By jove, they named him! They’ve named Pope Francis I as the new pope. For those that don’t know, Trevor Francis made over 50 appearances for the English national football team, scoring 12 goals to boot!
During his playing career, he played for Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Sampdoria, Atalanta, Rangers, Wollongong City, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday, scoring 232 goals in over 620 apeparances!
He then went on to manage Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham City and Crystal Palace.
He’s kept a low profile since ending his management days at Palace, but has finally decided that now was the right time to become ruler of one of the largest religions in the world.
